An idea I had was to make a video on bullying. I came up with that idea when one of the guys in class was talking about helping out at risk female teens.
Another idea would be to make a game using php, not sure what kind of game yet. One game that I saw someone create was hangman.
I don't have to many other ideas but I will keep thinking until I'm ready to stick to one of them.
I really like the idea for the video game website. I think if you knock out a really awesome website first you should have plenty of time to figure out the video game aspect of it. :D I can't wait to see how this turns out!!
A video about bullying? Since this was inspired by at-risk female teens, are female teens going to be featured in this video, are you looking at other groups of people being bullied, or are you just doing a video on bullying in general?
And what kind of bullying? Physical bullying or cyber-bullying? Either way, it might be a good video for you to make I would be interested in watching it if you decide to make it.
Jocque Carey: I think that this could be a very inspiring video and could have profitable legs if used right and connected to the right resources which I would be willing to talk about. I was an actor in videos like this and they were sent to schools around the country. So would this be an informative or entertaining video?
That sounds like an awesome idea, a movie on bullying. You also mentioned doing a game in php? Have you thought about an educational php game on bullying? Was just a thought. =) Keep us posted on what your official idea will be for your capstone.
I'm the guy doing the video series to help at risk females. I think making a bullying video is a great idea. I work at the Department of Education and I've filmed videos with experts in the field of bullying speaking about it. If you do decide to go this route, let me know and I'll try and get you those videos so you can watch them. They are dry boring videos but they have a ton of good information about bullying.
I think the bullying video would be a great subject. Its something very important to people at the moment and there are a lot of people starting movements to try and stop bullying in High schools. This video would have to be all about the people so you would have to find some great subjects and experts.

ReplyDeleteIn junior high and high school, we were always presented with these cheesy videos about bullying that everyone just made fun of. M
Maybe you could make one that people can actually relate to?
If you pursue your idea for an internet game, I'm not sure PHP (server-side scripting) would be your primary development language. Best of luck!
