<span style="font-family: Cambria; font-size: 12pt;">What I was going for in this picture is to have the float look like it is leaning on the building. The alterations I made was to raise the temperatue of the picture. The reason I did that is to make it seem like a more warm and inviting picture. I also cropped out the left part of it since it had the sky which added nothing to the picture.</span></div>

I would like to also be able to edit them in a semi professional manner just so I can have pictures of the cool things I see in life. I would also like to see what the RAW format is all about and see if its something I would like to work with.wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-73923660518493816932011-12-10T05:40:00.002-08:002011-12-10T09:45:13.125-08:00Capstone Exploration ReflectionInterview questions. <br />I asked Liz Crichlow about her capstone and what she did was an internship at KENRA as tech support since last week of July.<br />1. What has this week been like for you?<br />A. It's been stressful because she has also been doing finals.<br />2. If you could change anything in how you did your capstone, what would it be?<br />A. She would chage the daily experiences that she had on her poster because she just gabbed them out of her journal.<br />3. How close is the final outcome to what you originally thought it would be?<br />A. She would have liked more experience with servers and networks.<br />4. If you had one more month to work on the project what would you do?<br />A. Nothing, she said everything went well.<br />5. What advice do you have for me about working on my capstone?<br />A. Do an internship and do not procrastinate.<br /><br />Reflection of Capstone<br />1. Address the efficacy of the approach we took in this class.<br />I learned some things about capstone by having the guest speakers and going to the capstones. It also helped that we had to start thinking about it early and get mentors.<br />2. Discuss whether or not the breakdown of the project development was advantageous.<br />Its nice to have a breakdown of the project but it doesn't help when you don't follow the schedule because you have other things to do.<br />3. Discuss the advanges and/or disadvantages of the student guest speakers for forming your own approach to capstone.<br />The thing I got out of the guest speakers is that it would have been much better to have know what capstones were sooner and had an idea earlier. The bad thing that I got from them is that basically if you have not started on you capstone like a year prior then your capstone will be just OK.<br />4. Were there any assignments that you thought were particularly helpful? Please elaborate.<br />Making us get a mentor was a great idea because it would have been really hard to get one at the last minute.<br />5. Were there any assignments that you thought were particularly useless? Please elaborate.<br />In a way the secondary mentor thing was pointless for some people because there was no need in my case.wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-30155059190095003342011-12-10T05:40:00.001-08:002011-12-10T05:40:20.689-08:00Capstone rwwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-82961384919850075192011-09-27T07:33:00.000-07:002011-09-27T08:03:21.042-07:00Project Development IssuesTime management issues: I'm bad at it so I have to come up with a hard schedule. I will base it on a weekly to do list.<div>Skills needed: The skills I'm looking at that I need for this is web development, flash, php, and game story line development. I might also need to know how to use javascript. The good thing about those skills is that I have a base for all of them.</div><div>Resources needed: The resources I need are available to me free of charge for the most part. I will need resources on how to do some things with the various languages so I can use Linda a source for that and my mentor will know about the languages also.</div><div>Budget: I don't see this project as really costing money unless I need to pay to put my work online for people to see. Otherwise my budget will be about $500.</div><div>Team issues: I don't foresee any issues with any team that I have as of now.</div><div>Other issues: One of the issues I'm having is coming up with a way to have the game that is not incredibly imposing as the user navigates the site. But I don't want it to be easy either. The other issue is the content on the page but I can wait to cover that because my main purpose is to get the point across for a new way of browsing the web.</div>wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-66815099979382228282011-09-20T11:25:00.000-07:002011-09-20T11:30:17.063-07:00Secondary MentorFor secondary mentor I was thinking of two people outside of the New Media faculty. Those people are Michele Roberts and Andy Harris. I have had classes with both of them and they are really familier with the programming languages that I will be using such as PHP and JavaScript. It will also be helpful to have secondary mentors out side of New Media to get a different point of view on my Capstone.wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-11681397140764625142011-09-15T17:13:00.000-07:002011-09-27T06:08:12.042-07:00Mentor for CapstoneFor my Capstone project I will be making a website that is a game in itself. In order to get to other pages you have to beat parts of the website to unlock other section of the site. The thing I have to figure out is how I will make that work. Flash could be one method to do this or maybe using PHP and JavaScript. The other issue is what I want the user to be able to unlock, I was thinking it could be either a portfolio or an actual game story. It could even be both. <div><br /></div><div>Key Things I need in a mentor:</div><div>Flash, Web Programming, Gaming, and maybe PHP.</div><div><br /></div><div>Potential Mentors:</div><div>Matt Powers, Joseph Defazio, Todd Shelton.</div><div><br /></div><div>Matt Powers area of expertise is gaming and that will be an aspect of what I'm doing. His acspectation would be to have a game design document. I know this because I'm taking one of his classes in gaming. I don't think he will be very available due to his already booked schedule with students.</div><div>Joseph Defazio are of expertise is flash. The way I think my project will work is by using flash to make the website into a more interactive game. He will have room for me to be his mentor.<br />Todd Shelton are of expertise is also flash and web development. That is more of the combo I will need for this. He will likely be available as long as I can snag him first.</div><div><br /></div>wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-73249808587393707822011-09-13T10:40:00.000-07:002011-09-13T10:42:23.108-07:00Capstone CategoryThe capstone I am doing will be an animation about bullying. This would put this in the category of video. As of right now I only have a basis of what it will be like. I was kind of thinking of having animation and live video.wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-53837265235334201522011-09-04T10:35:00.001-07:002011-09-04T10:42:52.711-07:00Class DiscussionWhat I got out of the discussion was confusion about what we can and can't do but hopefully the meeting will clarify that. Something good I got from the discussion is why we do the Capstone project and that's to show case to the real world what we've got. The big thing that came out of the discussion was an idea for my capstone. It is to build a website that is a game itself. I was thinking that you would have to do some kind of thing on the page in order to access the other pages. I have not seen anyone do that before so I would be interested on how that would work. wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-57040429347728081942011-08-26T16:55:00.000-07:002011-08-29T08:16:34.911-07:00Ideas for CapstoneAn idea I had was to make a video on bullying. I came up with that idea when one of the guys in class was talking about helping out at risk female teens.<div>Another idea would be to make a game using php, not sure what kind of game yet. One game that I saw someone create was hangman.</div><div>I don't have to many other ideas but I will keep thinking until I'm ready to stick to one of them.

What would make it a real capstone is if its not something that you would do for a class project but something you would do for a real job. What I hope to get out of this is a project that shows that I didn't waste my time going to school. The school probably wants us to work on our capstone so we don't wait to the last minute doing it and come up with a lame capstone.wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-68218713962106552432010-12-13T06:52:00.000-08:002010-12-13T11:31:09.320-08:00Pickles<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGFzZ2rqv0paMSLDmGFpslBXP4RK8NF1pjBkLjqHA-2yAH6wKcue3P0RpGmaZCXnNUhYm9SbP0DXSD9tuMJJVuMfvUx7HlOgNgxZr71sw6jd1emWa-fwiakhyphenhyphenK_kSuLqfE9Qvzpd5l9Aiw/s1600/park.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGFzZ2rqv0paMSLDmGFpslBXP4RK8NF1pjBkLjqHA-2yAH6wKcue3P0RpGmaZCXnNUhYm9SbP0DXSD9tuMJJVuMfvUx7HlOgNgxZr71sw6jd1emWa-fwiakhyphenhyphenK_kSuLqfE9Qvzpd5l9Aiw/s320/park.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550251628387173538" /></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" ><u><br /></u></span></div><br />For the last assignment for the semester I decided to revisit one of the projects I did before. I'm doing this because I enjoyed it last time and I noticed there were some nice things around town that I never noticed. This time I took a bunch of pictures of a park near my house that I haven't went to in a long time but I see all the time. I looked for things that I didn't really pay attention to but for the most part I did have seen everything from when I use to play there. There was one thing though that I never paid attention to. I will show the picture in class.wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-52091987623455455122010-11-22T07:59:00.000-08:002010-11-22T09:17:35.043-08:009/22/10 Assignment<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicKqZKKgATviwBaGhNUlrrZKVMrzSiuc4UfCmUJjU5qMUGmU0nsP-cmk_O3veDuY3GmEG0Iz8DUdpVR0YGMt6OHL0DFaxb6T_F4T4fsrm8d4ApRT1VM0j23HZ5IkYO1WMA67uegoqRJRHE/s1600/city.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicKqZKKgATviwBaGhNUlrrZKVMrzSiuc4UfCmUJjU5qMUGmU0nsP-cmk_O3veDuY3GmEG0Iz8DUdpVR0YGMt6OHL0DFaxb6T_F4T4fsrm8d4ApRT1VM0j23HZ5IkYO1WMA67uegoqRJRHE/s320/city.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5542424367541983058" /></a><br />I decided not to do the inspiration assignment because what inspires me is always different. What I mean is that one of the main thing that inspires me is courage, but I'm bias on that. When courage inspires me it is when soldiers going into fire fights knowing what could happen, having family they want to go back to and still going through what they signed up for. When people conquer their fear of something like animals, germs, heights, etc. that doesn't inspire me because it doesn't seem like that big of a deal to me, although it's good when people conquer their fears.<div>What I did do for my assignment for this week was take a bunch of pictures of the area downtown. The reason I did this was to see what i could make out of all those pictures and to see how creative I could get and this is what I got.</div><div><br /></div>wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-5390310386343450332010-11-15T06:53:00.000-08:002010-11-15T08:09:37.299-08:00Who Am I?So for this project I was a bit confused on what I was going to bring to class so first I had to think who I am. What most people who know me know that I am a pretty nice guy who like to make people smile and be happy. On the inside though I can be really mean and aggressive if you give me a reason to be. So to represent that I will bring.... something to class.wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-88112221543298138842010-11-07T10:47:00.000-08:002010-11-07T11:00:06.746-08:00BlissI'm honestly not 100% sure what I'm suppose to be putting in this blog so I'm going to ramble about what I think it is. When I first read that need to decide what our final project is it made me nervous. The reason for that is that I have a hard time thinking of good assignments for myself in this class. So I gave it some thought and what might be an idea worth doing is just going about my day then finding some random object that peaks my interest then writing a fake story about how it got there. The whole point of it is not to just say hey theres a trash can it got there because someone put it there. It would be something like a meteor came down to earth that wards off ninjas of something like that so they put it there because that area was know to have many ninja sightings. What I'm trying to accomplish is to not state the obvious as to why something is there and make it interesting and maybe improve my creative thinking.wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-58194346252639653602010-11-03T06:30:00.000-07:002010-11-03T06:35:47.485-07:00Response to class 11/1/10Well when I first read the assignment I thought I read it wrong so I reread it and was excited. Then I realized I could have stayed home then was a bit annoyed but overall it didn't bug me to much. I didn't do other homework in that time either. I just hung out with my girlfriend until my next class started. As for the assignment it will be tricky for me because I'm not that good at thinking of my own work to do unless I know there is a purpose to it.wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-13401908154152446722010-11-01T06:45:00.000-07:002010-11-01T06:52:30.021-07:00What is it?From first look I thought it was just a bunch of mail but then it seemed like just a bunch of jokes. This assignment was probably so we would have to think outside of the box. It is like a parody of actual items like advertisement and rules. Another reason this was assigned was probably to mess with are heads like usual. Other then that I'm not sure what the point was.wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-61234987905077456422010-10-26T10:59:00.000-07:002010-10-26T11:06:53.605-07:00Response to class 10/25The class was OK today but not as good as usual. It was cool to see what some other people did for there assignment like the i pumpkin and the website. The discussion about why the one female didn't want to show her project didn't seem important to me. The best thing about class was the moving book until I realized how simple it was and the junk mail or whatever it was annoyed me because I couldn't figure out what it is all about.wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-25978446197519992322010-10-25T01:49:00.000-07:002010-10-25T02:09:10.976-07:00Whats UpFor my exercise it was kind of like the walking backwards exercise. What I did was simply look up where there were other people. The point of this was to show how people are curios of what is going on around them. One of the times I was at Camp Atterburry and was looking up for a good while. After a while people came up to me and asked what I was looking at. I didn't say anything for a while and they started to look up to figure it out. I then walked away and one person called me stupid, I think that person realized what I was doing. Another time I was downtown and basically the same thing happened but there was only one person who asked me what I was looking at and I told him up he kept looking and then walked away. This experiment was to just show how people are usually wants to know what is happening around them. I also noticed that some people just looked up for a second and just kept walking so I'm guessing those people were semi curious but didn't really care or just figured I was crazy.wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-64330849740398053942010-10-11T07:30:00.000-07:002010-10-11T07:46:13.284-07:00Whats Really ImportantWhats really important to me is to become an officer. It is only one thing in order to make me into a better person. The thing that makes me want to do this is so I can help others become better people. After seeing countless people making bad decision and having no clue on what to do, I hope to be a person to show people what they are capable of.<div>My belief is that are classified because really I find them to be vague and hard to think of. Religion has no part on my beliefs because I'm not a religious person at all. There is no fear in this assignment for me. Me being an atheist might offend someone but I don't care because I'm ok with being one.</div>wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-79400689121213404672010-10-05T06:07:00.000-07:002010-10-05T06:10:24.506-07:00Response to class 10/4Class was pretty interesting today. There were some cool and touching presentations. The snake war really nice, I don't think I have ever had the chance to pick up a snake before so that was cool. I'm pretty excited about peoples opinions for the next class since it will be a touchy subject.wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-92183729476549936262010-10-04T05:21:00.000-07:002010-10-04T05:50:41.071-07:00Fear<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent:.5in">What makes me fearful is drowning and spiders or worse, drowning in a pool of spiders. Fear to me is something that when I think about I dread it to the point I get freaked out. Fear stops you from being rational and making sound decisions. The purpose of fear is to make sure you stay away from something that could potentially hurt you. Fear doesn’t affect my life to much except for the rare case where there is a big spider and I don’t want to get near it. When it comes to drowning I don’t let that fear affect me when it comes to swimming. I can swim the only problem I have is staying under water for more than about 10 seconds.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-tab-count:1"> </span>My experiment was to light my hand on fire using hand sanitizer and a lighter. I did this because it only makes since to be scared of fire or at least be caught on fire.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>So I did it in class without warning, and it seemed like only one person was really freaked out by it. Everyone one else seemed to think it was cool. I expected some people to think it was cool but I would have figured more people would be freaked out that a person’s hand was on fire. The only thing I can think of to make the experiment work better is to tell someone to put a little bit of hand sanitizer on then I light there hand on fire and they freak out. I would of course have this person picked out with their approval before class.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-tab-count:1"> </span>The experiment I responded most to was the mouse(not sure what the guy’s name was). I responded to it because I hate mice. There rodents and there nasty. Although I did pick it up I still would have preferred if it wasn’t alive. The thing I would take from his experiment is to get people involved.</p>wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-8305568822321846652010-09-27T07:03:00.000-07:002010-09-27T07:09:32.970-07:00ExpectationsThe reaction I expect in class is people saying are you crazy and freaking out. Others might think that what I do is cool and might try and do it.wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-267077750763438028.post-65584881667800062172010-09-19T10:50:00.000-07:002010-09-19T11:04:17.758-07:00The 6th SenseThe sixth sense that I thought of is absorption. By that I mean that you can absorb knowledge from anything that has it, but it has to allow you and they have to be at least 3 feet by you. Someone would use this so that they could learn without all the hard work. Example is if I want to learn how to fly a helicopter I would just stand next to someone who know how and ask him if I could learn it from him, he would then say yes and within a few minutes I will have learned it.wwallacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17851197483407371586noreply@blogger.com0
